Smart Care, Round II open for applications
NAC is delivering a certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) with a focus on Smart Care Technology. This course gives participants the knowledge, skills and qualification required to provide quality care in residential aged care facilities or home care environments, while also training participants to use the most up to date mobile workplace technologies.
The program is being held at NAC, a working community centre that provides social support and home and community care services, so participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice real skills in a real workplace. Participants will run a supervised clinic providing a healthy aging program to clients, utilising a variety of smart assistive and adaptive technology devices.
The second intake of the program begins on the 4th of July 2017 and enrolment sessions are taking place in the preceding week by appointment. Training will be run 4 full days per week for 14 weeks, followed by a 3 week full time practical placement. For more information, please call reception on 3266 4500. This course is the first of its kind in Australia and is currently free and exclusive to job seekers eligible for the Skilling Queenslanders for Work employment program.
SQW ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Participants must be:
- currently seeking employment in the Aged Care, Community Support or Disability Support industry; and
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia or on a pathway to permanent residency; and
- either not receiving centrelink benefits, or have been receiving benefits for over 6 months, or be from a recognised priority training group (CALD, Indigenous, people with a disability, job seekers over 45).
